Dear Scientists,
 

The 8th “Economics and Finance’’ Conference, which we, as Istanbul Gelisim University, organize in cooperation with the University of Greenwich, Mzumbe University, and Atlas University, will take place both online and face-to-face at Istanbul Gelişim University on 6-7 December 2024. The main theme for 2024 has been determined as “African Perspectives.”
 

Our aim is to provide a platform where academics discuss the transformation problems experienced by the African continent during its development process from an African perspective. To date, Türkiye’s perspective on Africa has been more in line with how Türkiye can achieve its economic and political goals in Africa. The conference we aim to organize will give African participants a say in what kind of Africa they envision and will create an opportunity to see to what extent the economic and political activities of non-African countries, such as Türkiye, are compatible with the path that African countries wish to pursue. Additionally, this conference aims to discuss, with participants from the business community and academia, to what extent the integration of African countries, which is desired to be achieved with the African Union, will offer investment and intra-African trade opportunities to countries such as Türkiye in the future, and to provide the opportunity to create a roadmap.
 

Important Summary Information About the Congress:

• All papers to be presented under the subheadings of economics and finance during the congress will be evaluated by authorized referees, and the sessions will be organized according to discipline and subject.
• The congress languages will be Turkish and English. This option, which will allow us to overcome the language barrier when exchanging ideas with our international participants, will help us ensure inclusive interaction.

• Our conference is supported by TUBITAK within the scope of 2223-B.
